Make sure of what you are buying your classic car for or you may end up hating it.
My route home happens to take me through 20 minutes of heavy traffic. Four times a year, I sit still in my car for two hours. The beginning and end parts of my drive are a heavenly treat of twisty back roads with little traffic where one can stretch the legs and handling capabilities of any car.
I however don’t want to find myself sitting in a car that I can’t get to move after slow stop start work for an hour. I was commenting on my reservation on a manual Porsche for my daily commute to a salesman at my local supercar dealership and he told me that a Porsche clutch was nothing……
……. he put me in a Lamborghini Diablo and told me to try and push the clutch in … ok the engine wasn’t on, but he assured me that it wasn’t much better with the engine on…. I managed to depress the clutch three times…. And simply could not manage to do it a forth time.
I don’t think that I would have made it round the block in this car let alone the 35km to work………
