It is impossible to test drive a VW Golf Gti and will I ever be able to test drive a VW Scirocco?

Attention all Porsche Directors. Although you have managed to buy VW for a low price, you need to be aware of the reason that VW was not doing well and therefore allowed you to buy them……… well ….. nearly buy them…………

VW seem to have a standing policy that none of their sales people are allowed demo cars and are never told when the next model is coming out…. They also aren’t interested in reading the newspaper or the car magazines and get a big surprise when the public arrive at their showroom a week before a launch …. Your PR department seem to be cutting cost by sending press releases to the magazines but not to the sales staff in the dealerships………….. they are not aware was happening…..
When the R32 was launched overseas, I went running to my local VW dealership to ask them “how much” and “when will it arrive” and “could I book a test drive”. They said they were not sure if VW was going to bring the car into the country…. Which the papers had just told me they were going to do….. they had no idea how much it would cost…….. but “it would be more than a GTi”. So I decided I would try and get a feeling for the car by driving it’s baby brother, the GTi. The sales person told me they did not have a demo the last GTi that they had as a demo was “so in demand that they had sold it” and they thought they were getting one in a few weeks, but that one was sold also….. they used to let clients test drive the cars that came in for sale but they thought it was bad practice so they stopped that……

… he thought that maybe VW in the next city had one but on phoning was proved wrong……. He then cheerfully told me I could test drive one on the local race track………… wow I thought….. these guys have got the best marketing tool to sell cars….. free track time in a hot hatch……. OH NO…… he meant you could PAY MONEY to do the VW advanced driving experience and thereby have the only chance of test driving the car that you would have unless you where the VW test driver himself………… my brother in law this year wanted to have his fiancé test drive the new GTi…. And guess what ….. a VERY similar story………… you guys at Porsche REALLY need to change the VW salesman’s handbook, put a demo GTi and Scirocco in each dealership ……….. your sales will double overnight……. Make sure you have the Capex for the increase in the size of the factory first though….. planning is not one of VW managements strong points………… but then financial planning doesn’t seem to be one of Porsche managements strengths either…………
