Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino vs. Maserati Merak vs. Maserati Bora

A while back Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May bought classic super cars and did some stupid things in them. I could swear Clarkson told us he bought a Lamborghini Bora, I however can only recall and find a Maserati Bora and a Lamborghini Miura…… kind of irrelevant though for what he was bringing across and what I am trying to tell you here. All I saw was a lot of Italian rubbish that wasn’t that good in the first place. Firstly they all cost more than a 911 SC new and now the 911 SC is more than they are…………. I feel a revelation coming on……….. Eureka I found it………. don’t buy an old Italian car……… buy a classic German sports car………. So the really old Ferrari’s cost an absolute fortune………… but as the British geeks keep showing us, modern day grannies’ cars are better round a track than old Italian sports cars (as I found out when driving a Ferrari Mondial)……….. not so for 1980’s Porsche’s………. they not only are classics……… you can actually drive them like you stole them and get a good lap time……… Clarkson hates them for some reason……… maybe because they are just so reasonable and practical…….. he is after all a man who wears his hair long and always talks about his privates, lap dancing clubs and adult films……………. A bit of a misguided school boy really…………..

I have decided though that being a bit of a school boy is not such a bad thing…….. life after all is all about having fun and exercising your passion…….. So I am subjecting myself to driving a 1992 2.4GLE Cressida (auto) while I use the money from the sale of my least expensive car to raise money to buy other cars (making money off cars)………… so I can buy one of the cars that I had as a Hot Wheel or a poster on my wall as a kid…………. surely that is what living is all about……… living childhood dreams…. who ever had a poster of a Range Rover or a BMW 3 Series on their wall as a kid……….. 911, Lambo, Ferrari……………….. why settle for second best…………… just spend a bit of time reading some of our articles to get an idea of what to not waste your money on and rather just test drive some of your dream cars to get that bug out of your system.

My late father’s friend had a Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino. He sold it and bought a 2002 Mini Cooper S. He said the Mini was more fun, more comfortable, less dangerous and much less expensive to maintain…… the only reason you would buy one is so you can get into the Ferrari club so you can make friends with proper rich people.
